Sylwia Gumkowska - an intuitive painter whose work balances between the world of inner emotions and the geometric order of forms. In her paintings she combines saturated colors, symbolism and figural simplifications, creating compositions full of tension and harmony at the same time.
She is inspired by surrealism and the human psyche. Her portraits - most often female - express introspection and emotional honesty, often set in unreal spaces or enriched with symbolic elements: spheres, pawns, labyrinths.
The artist experiments with texture, solidity and contrast - she paints mainly with oil paints on large formats. She doesn't create out of the need for aesthetics, but out of the need for a message - each painting is a personal story, suspended between silence and impulse.
Her style is distinguished by its recognizability and originality, and her works are in private collections in Poland and abroad (Spain, Italy).
