PWPW collector banknotes, Polish Olympic Champions – Lech Łasko and Tomasz Wójtowicz. Issued by the “Mistrzowie Sportu” Foundation.
The “Mistrzowie Sportu” Foundation is the issuer of the original, diamond-themed series of collector’s banknotes titled “Polish Olympic Champions.” Currently, the first four denominations have been designed.
It is these outstanding Olympic champions, who are also Polish national heroes, who are the first in this unique series of commemorative collector’s banknotes. The designer of these banknotes is graphic artist Agnieszka Próchniak, who also designed the “Defense of the Eastern Border” commemorative banknote issued by the National Bank of Poland. The denomination of these collector’s items has been designated as “109 Champions,” because by 2024 (before the Paris Olympics) exactly that many Poles have won gold medals competing for the White-and-Red team at all Olympic Games in history in which they have participated, both Summer and Winter.
