Biography
Performer, sculptor, and installation artist. Nature and ecology are central to her performance art. After one year of art history studies at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), she transferred in 1970 to the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she graduated under the guidance of Prof. Jan Tarasin and Tadeusz Dominik. In 2005, she received the Katarzyna Kobro Award. The artist collaborates with youth groups on various environmentally focused “seedings” and other projects. These “sowing” events took place, among other locations, on a green strip near the National Library in Warsaw—the artist sowed grain near a tram stop, performing her selfless act essentially without an audience.
