Pendulum with allegory of peace

Dial signed "Cronier A Paris" (Jean-François Cronier).
Paris, around 1800.

Case: Black marble base with lion's head ornaments and baluster relief resting on stilted, pressed ball feet. The barrel-shaped movement case with two men in armor with lances arranged around it and battle material lying on the ground, which is allowed to rest in peacetime.
Dial: White enamel, glazed, black Roman hours, Arabic minutes, baton and dot indices.
Function: Lock plate striking mechanism on bell on the half and full hour. À jour gilt hands for hours and minutes, winding holes on the IIII and VIII, one key and one pendulum present, not tested for functionality.
