A small silver cup, presumably a children’s cup or a keepsake. The bowl has walls that flare slightly toward the top and sits on a low, profiled foot. The rim of the spout and the edge of the foot are accented with a delicate beaded ornament.
The front of the vessel is adorned with a symmetrical, engraved composition in a late-Historicist style. Its central element is an oval cartouche left without a monogram, surrounded by stylized ribbons, festoons, and ornamental motifs. The decorative handle, with its S-shaped curve, is cast and adorned with a relief floral ornament and volute finials. The interior of the cup is gilded.
Visible on the base are: the name mark of the Warsaw workshop “KiM,” belonging to the firm Krupski and Matulewicz, and the Polish state hallmark used in Warsaw from 1921 to 1931.
An interesting example of Warsaw applied goldsmithing from the early period of the Second Polish Republic, combining the classical symmetry of the decoration with the Rococo form of the handle.
Condition: as shown in the photos.
