A unique silver basket with handle and lockable lid, decorated with a scene with cupids, and fanciful designs at the top. Made in a style characteristic of the second half of the 19th century, imitating earlier objects made of silver. Objects in this style are sometimes called silver from Hanau, after the name of the city, a center of this type of production.

*Simon Hermann Rosenau (1861-1943?) - German goldsmith from Bad Kissingen, descended from a family of Jewish merchants with roots dating back to the 18th century. In addition to his jewelry store and house at Kurhausstrasse 10 in Bad Kissingen, where the Rosenau family also ran a spa guesthouse, Simon Hermann Rosenau also owned a jewelry store and house in Munich. In the '30s, he escaped persecution to France, but was captured there and sent to the Drancy camp, from where he was deported to Auschwitz.
