A student of Julian Fałat at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (from 1902), from whom he successfully adopted both technique, subjects and style. He was excellent at depicting winter scenery in particular. He exhibited extensively, most often at the TPSP in Krakow, and was a magazine illustrator. In 1982, the Society of Friends of Fine Arts held an exhibition at the Cracow Palace of Art to mark the centenary of the painter's birth.
It is possible that the painting depicts one of the oldest wooden churches preserved to this day in the Lubaczow district - the wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Goraj.
