Biography
Artist working in drawing, painting and sculpture. In 2005, he graduated in painting under Prof. Leszek Misiak at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Ziolkowski's works are a microcosm of his own fantasies, emotions and experiences. Chaos seems to reign in the finely filled spaces of the canvases. Meshes of incongruous motifs create elaborate, personal stories by the artist proving that although the world is untamed, it remains extremely fascinating. His works have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions, including: Holy Nothing, Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw (2018); Das Leben selbst, Neues Museum Nürnberg, Nuremberg (2017); Imagorea, BWA Gallery, Zielona Gora and Foksal Gallery Foundation, Warsaw (2014); Hokaina, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (2010). Exhibitions of Ziolkowski's work have also been organized by such galleries as Hauser & Wirth in London, Parasol unit in London and Centre d'Art Contemporain in Geneva.
