Stanisław Wejman (b. 1944). From 1962 to 1968, he studied at the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, initially painting in Hanna Rudzka-Cybis’s studio, and later graphic arts[1]. He received his diploma in 1968 from the Copperplate Engraving Studio under the supervision of Professor Mieczysław Wejman[2]. That same year, he joined the faculty of his alma mater. In 1994, he was awarded the title of professor of fine arts.
From 1984 to 1985, he worked as a visiting professor in the United States, and in 1990 in Canada. He taught printmaking at art academies in Antwerp, Maastricht, Montreal, Storrs, and Urbino, among others. His students included Joanna Kaiser-Plaskowska, Krzysztof Tomalski, and Dariusz Vasina.
He has participated in several hundred solo and group exhibitions, including those held as part of the International Print Triennial in Kraków.
Recipient of, among others, the Prize Endowed by the 8th National Print Exhibition in Warsaw in 1978, an honorable mention in the Polish Book Publishers Association competition in 2004, an individual award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2005.
He was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2013)[4] and the Bronze Medal “Gloria Artis” for Merit to Culture (2011)
